Younger expatriate families in the UAE are starting to plan their estates as they buy homes, have children and build long-term financial commitments.
Reporting in Khaleej Times, Azza Al Ali highlights findings from Just Wills Legal Consultants showing the strongest growth in enquiries among residents aged 35 to 44, although those aged 45 to 54 still account for the largest share.
Sameer Marria, Managing Director of Just Wills Legal Consultants, explains that more expatriates now see the UAE as a lasting home. Property ownership and parenthood are encouraging families to consider inheritance, guardianship and the management of assets for children.
The report also explores the challenges of overseas assets, business succession and Shariah-compliant wealth planning. Advisers stress the need to coordinate arrangements across jurisdictions and review them when family or financial circumstances change.
As awareness grows, estate planning is becoming part of everyday household preparation, alongside keeping clear records of assets, liabilities and important documents.
